Planning a Class

Sharing doTerra NaturallyCongratulations! You are going to present a Class. This guide will help walk you through, step by step. It can be very simple (even though these lists may look long). But a few tools and some training will help you have your best success. Your best tool will be the person who enrolled you, if they are able to go over this material with you, then come and help you present your first classes. But even if they aren’t able to do that, you can be successful on your own with some great tools and training.

If you have been through the Share and Build sections of the Success Challenge, that I highly recommend, you will have already been through many of the videos listed here. A review will no doubt be helpful though, especially if you are just beginning to present classes.

There are basically 3 types of classes I recommend. 2 of them are through brand new tools, that make preparing for and presenting a class much easier for beginners! The training will be much the same for all. The tools may be a bit different, but not all that much. Note that many of the components can be downloaded and printed off. For the brochures, it will no doubt cost more to print them off than to order them, as they include many colorful pictures. (*Starred downloads below are the ones I don’t recommend printing, due to ink usage. In a pinch, you could probably print without the front covers.)

The links in this guide (besides the doTerra ones) go primarily to 3 different sites where you can purchase supplies. Although everything may not be available at each, many things are. Check all 3 sites for your needs before placing your order, as you may be able to save on shipping if you can get it all in one-stop. The sites are: MyOilBusiness.com    AromaTools.com   and MyDoPro.com/market

3 Types of Classes–from Simplest to More Detailed

  1. doTerra’s Essential Oils 101 Class in a Box. This is from doTerra, and makes a class very easy to do. Class in a Box comes with all the paperwork you need and a DVD that does most of the presentation, as well as Living magazines and Wild Orange essential oils. Class in a Box can be ordered with your doTerra order. You’ll find it under Kits > Leadership Kits for $25. Most of the components can also be downloaded and printed off. The videos are also available to watch from that download link. Read more about Class in a Box.
    • • 20 Invitations
      • 10 bottles of 5 mL dōTERRA Wild Orange essential oil
      • 10 dōTERRA Living Magazines (also available to order separately, or to view online – current issue link available here)
      • 10 Living dōTERRA Naturally brochures (*download also available)
      • 1 Sharing dōTERRA Naturally brochure (*download also available)
      • 1 Building dōTERRA Naturally brochure (*download also available)
      • 1 Push/Play DVD (video segments also available online)
      • 1 Product Catalog (also available to order separately, or to view online)
      • 2 Tear Pads (downloads also available)
      Class Outline (download also available)
Sample Cards (to give out with your samples)
  2. Share Success’s Natural Solutions class. This is also available as a class in a box for $25, through MyOilBusiness. Much of its paperwork components can also be downloaded at Share Success, or all can be purchased individually from MyOilBusiness. (Be sure to download the “New” version of the guides.) The Natural Solutions class in a box includes:
    • 15 – 5/8 Sample Vials
      15 – Class Invitations
15 – Healthy Can Be Simple Intro Guide
10 – Natural Solutions Class Handouts (download also available)
10 – Live Brochure Guides (download also available*)
8 – Share Brochure Guides (download also available*)
6 – Build Brochure Guides (download also available*)
1 – Natural Solutions DVD (also available to view online)
  3. Medicine Cabinet Makeover or other class with “tear pad” handouts. Medicine Cabinet Makeover had no doubt been the most popular class, but the Natural Solutions class was developed to take its place. Handouts specific to a wide variety of classes, including Medicine Cabinet Makeover, can be purchased to give to each guest. For Medicine Cabinet Makeover, there is also a class script, “how to teach” video, and videos of the class, available for training. Those resources are great resources for learning how to teach any class you may do. You can also find videos on youtube of many of the other classes that have tear pads available.
    • The Wellness Wishlist can be used with other tear pad handouts, or for a class that does not have a handout prepared.

In this Part 1 of this series, we will cover Planning a Class, Inviting to a Class, and Preparing for a Class (what to take with you). In Part 2 we will cover Presenting a Class.

  1. Decide which class you are doing, when, and where. If you are co-presenting with your upline, decide who will do each part.
